I began my dance training at Neverland Studios at age 11, starting with ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance. Encouraged by my teachers, I expanded into hip hop, competition crews, and jazz troupes (Moxie). Driven by my passion for dance, I joined the teaching team through the internship program, where I taught for six years.
During this time, I had the privilege of mentoring and choreographing for various crews, including Frenzy, Khaos, Tribe, Midas, and NVL Nation, while also immersing myself in the NZ hip hop competition scene. Being a crew mentor was a key moment in my career, where I built lifelong connections with some of the greatest people I know.
Exposure to street dance events like SDNZ, HHINZ, and Street Dance Camp inspired me deeply. These events introduced me to some of the best dancers in NZ's street dance scene, whose talent continues to inspire me daily.
The encouragement and belief I received at NVL, especially from Ash and Alley, shaped my confidence as both a dancer and a teacher. From ages 16 to 18, I spent nearly every day in the studio training. The advanced classes, troupes, and crew experiences helped me realisee that dance was not only my passion, but also a serious career path. I was fortunate to perform on television, dance at live community events, and gain insights into the commercial industry through professional video and photo shoots under NVL. This passion led me to further my studies in dance at UNITEC, where I earned a Bachelor in Contemporary Dance.
What I will always carry with me from Neverland is the power of connection — something I live by and prioritise in every class I teach. Connecting with people, the music, the art form, our shared history, and our present lives.
Now based in Melbourne, I work as a freelance movement artist, teaching, creating, and staying active in the street dance scene. I train in house dance, hip hop freestyle, and participate in community events and battles. Back in NZ, I also founded and facilitated 'Sunday Sessions', a class initiative born in Auckland, designed as a space for people to come together, share, and explore dance.
